This product is a sensor for extracting a timing signal from the current change of an ignition coil or coil type injection based on a current transformer. Piezoelectric type injection can also be detected, but the output is several tens of mV because the current is minute.
At engine rotation measurement, even models without a secondary side high tension cable can be detected.
Since it is a small, clamp type, it can be clamped to an existing harness cable.
●Ignition
Current detection between battery and ignition coil
The pickup is clamped between the battery and ignition coil of a full transistor type ignition circuit.
When energizing begins, the transistor is turned on and a small negative voltage is generated. When energizing that turns the transistor off stops (at ignition), a positive spike voltage is generated.
When the installation direction is reversed, the voltage direction (positive, negative) is also reversed.
●Injection
Since the injection drive signal current is smaller than ignition, the output voltage is small.
